6 , Pasum tso |
Lunang-Nyingtri-Bayi-Bahe-Pasum
tso |
Serkhyim la pass, cross several 5000m + passes,
view of Namche Barwa which is the highest peak of
the East Himalayas, and it has a towering snow pinnacle
shaped like a ritual dagger.
Nyingtri, old county capital. Nowadays, small town
on east bank of Nyang-chu, below Mt Bonri. Mountain,
forest and lake spirits pray daily role in people¡¯s
lives. Nyingtri landscape is extremely magnificent,
characterized by dense primeval forest , plateau
lakes, high mountains and deep fertile valleys.
Taktse Yungdrungling Bon monastery,road into Nyingtri
passes through Taktse township. Just above town
is this monastery.
Kushuk Drong , 2000+years old juniper tree, sacred
to Bon. As for Y 5 admission , I think it is overcharging.
Bayi , capital of Nyingtri district, originally
a military base . Not much to see here.
Bahe, the intersection town of Pasum tso

Pasum tso, a wonderful view of the jade-green lake,
16 km long by three km wide, girded by steep forested
slopes, and with the Tsodzong Island positioned
like a pearl at its center. The flat-bottomed ferry
boat is drawn across to the island by an overhead
cable. Tibetan tents on its shores serve as guest
lodges.
Gyamda, a luch stop town and few guesthouse for
acc.
